What is your own
definition for IT?
Instruction technology is integrated process that include individuals, methods and ideas,
tools and regulations that followed to analyzing problems , devise appropriate
solutions and their implementation, evaluation, and the managed in situations
where education meaningful and directed can be controlled. Therefore, it is
manage components of the educational system, and development. It is modern methods used by the teacher to
facilitate lessons for students so that simplifies and facilitates information
in a manner understandable to the student as it contains techniques that addresses the human mind and further
sight to attract students focused and understanding.
In addition, "IT aims to promote the application of validated,
practical procedures in the design and delivery of instruction. It is often
defined either in terms of media and other technology used (e.g. audiovisual
media and
equipment and computers), or in terms of a systematic process which encompasses
instructional design, development, delivery and evaluation"(1).
2. What
is the relationship between IT and the teaching aids?
Teaching aids are specific tools, equipment and machine for the teacher while instruction technology is an integrated system includes human opinions, ideas, working methods, management and so on. All these work to increase the efficiency of the educational process.
Teaching aids is an integral part of the instruction technology. It is a component of the comprehensive educational system, while instruction technology is the approach work, developed thinking, a way of thinking and problem solving.
Teaching aids are the tools and materials, devices, and locations employed by the teacher inside or outside the school as part of a plan to activate the role of the learner and convert abstract information significantly and lead to achieving educational goals.
Instruction technology is a process that employs a systems approach in educational situations in an effort to planning, implementation and evaluation, with the assistance of human resources and other human and based on the results of research in the field of teaching and learning in order to achieve educational goals."

3. What
is the impact of IT on your role as a teacher?
My
role as a teacher is getting knowledge through research and the use of these
techniques and see all new in the world of technology. Because I able to use
and deal with technology that use in classroom which increases with me the love
of creativity and realistic view of the techniques and science together. Also
it saves time, effort and money to providing information. For example, bringing
the map to the class offers to geography teacher the difficulty of drawing is
in the board. On the other hand, if I want to give a lecture about the life of
elephant, I can show a video about that instead of buying a lot of equipment to
explain its life. It give the teacher the ability to distinguish objects displayed
to the students and help the teacher to teach students specific skills such as
the correct pronunciation and development of the student's tendencies to learn
and strengthen their positive attitudes. The teacher can train the students in
organized thinking and solving the problem.
As
the number of the educators and increase, the teacher need big effort to
performance his/her role. Such as raised his/her voice and intensify monitoring
for control, or the need for further clarification and explanation and
repetition, until there is a level of understanding. So teacher uses teaching
aids such as the use of loudspeakers and the need to stimuli technical measures
to attention, maintain calm, and the use of video projectors and paintings for
explanation and clarification.

advanced technology could significantly affect the role of teachers, as well as
the structure of schools and classrooms. The use of instructional technology
changes the teacher’s role from expert to facilitator. In addition, instruction
is no longer limited to the school building or classroom. For example, students
can take courses from a global satellite feed or on the Internet. Learning can
take place at home, at work, or anywhere else that has the capacity for a
television, phone, or computer". (2)

Basic Concepts in Information Technology
The Computer System
n The computer system consists of:
1. Hardware: Physical Components
2. Software: set of instructions that tells the computer what to do and how to do it.
3. Users: people who use the software and hardware to do something.
Information Technology
n The set of tools used to: Receive process, store, retrieve, print, and transmit information in an electronic form.
n Information can be: text, sound, picture, or video
Types of Computers
n Computers vary in performance and cost, in size and capabilities
v Super Computers
n Very high-speed
n Used in large scientific and research labs.
n Very expensive (millions of dollars)
v Mainframes
n Room-sized, expensive, high-speed, very powerful with large storage.
n Connected to many terminals (dumb and intelligent)
v Mini Computers
n Same as the mainframe but smaller in size
n Used instead of Personal computers when they are not adequate, and mainframes are expensive.
n
v Personal Computers
n The most popular, and not very expensive.
n The software that is compatible with the PC depends on the manufacturer of this PC.
v Laptops
n Portable and Briefcase sized
n As powerful as a PC but more expensive
v Palmtop Computers
n Portable Hand-held computers.
n Does very simple functions, and relatively cheap.
n Also called “Notepad”.
Parts of the Computer
- System Unit: the box that contains the CPU, Main Memory Drives, and power Supply.
- Input Devices: Devices that allow the user to enter data into the computer
- Output Devices: Devices that translate information after being processed into a form the user can understand.
- Peripherals: any hardware that is connected to a computer
